About Us

Welcome to the She Speaks Truth Podcast where I endeavour to speak God's truth over you. My goal through this podcast is to share God's truth about us as it is stated in His word. The strategy of the enemy is to have us believe his lies, and as a result, we do not live up to our fullest potential, and all that God created us to be in the earth. On this podcast I will be talking about particular topics that I find are common in our generation. Some of these topics include: identity, overcoming adversity, mental health, relationships and much more.

The Importance of Sisterhood During the Healing Process (A live discussion)

As a follow up to our live discussion on why Black women need safe spaces of healing, this week we talk about the importance of sisterhood during the healing process. We were never created to be alone or to live in silos, however, very often we are going through things alone. And the truth is we crying out for help. We go through things alone for a few reasons. First, a lot of the times we have emotional walls up, and we don’t trust others to let them in. Secondly, we have been hurt by what has been coined as sisterhood, and we don’t want to be the topic of anyone’s group chat, or the tea everyone is sharing. Last but not least, we are afraid of being judged, or condemned if we share our experiences. Of course these are just a few, and we address these topics along with a few more . Joining me on this week's podcast are some My sister’s Keeper alumni who have gone through their own healing journey, and has embraced healthy sisterhood during their process!. This conversation was both therapeutic and soul stirring! You will feel sisterhood. I Know it will bless you, and challenge you to find healthy sisterhood on your own healing journey. The Importance of Sisterhood During the Healing Process (A live discussion)

Why Black Women need safe spaces of Healing (A live discussion)

Healing is very uncomfortable. It is a place of vulnerability, and transparency; and women, particularly Black women, need safe spaces for this type of deep inner healing to take place. As I prepare for ’ in a few weeks I wanted to have some conversation around this aspect of healing and safe spaces. The truth, is a lot of Black women have experienced deep hurt by what has been coined as safe spaces, and this has negatively affected their healing journey. In addition, some Black women don’t feel comfortable opening up and being vulnerable in order to facilitate their healing journey; or they are scared of the word healing because they may have a lot to unpack. Joining me on today's episode are my sisters, Taylor Banks and Atia Heals; discussing the topic . We define what is a safe space, why these spaces are important, and holistic healing/wholeness among Black women. Got your notebooks and pens? Because you are going need it! You are in for a treat! Church Detox Part 3 (The Grieving Process of Change)

The church detox continues. This week I discuss the grieving process of change. For many of us God is calling us to a season of change and transition, and He is preparing us for the various emotions that we will experience when we say yes to this change. During this time, He is gracing us and giving us tools to build our internal fortitude in oder to embrace the change and the shift that will come. Change is never easy, and being outside of our comfort zone is never easy. Transition comes with its ups and downs, and sometimes self doubt is at the forefront, as we question whether or not this is God. During this episode expect clarity and expect the Lord to speak to you. However, beware that you will be challenged to step out of the boat, walk on water, and live life outside of the box. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/jessica5112/message

Church Detox Part 2 (The New Normal)

On this week's episode we continue the conversation of church detox, as we talk about The New Normal. I walk us through the importance of emotionally healthy spirituality and what that looks like in our everyday lives as believers, and for those who serve in any type of leadership capacity. I remind us of the importance of stillness and solitude, so that God can minister to our hearts. Finally, I challenge us to shift our mindsets, ensuring that our relationships with Christ are the forefront. Church Detox Part 2 (The New Normal)

Church Detox

On this week's episode we talk about Church Detox; yes I went there. I sense that we are in a season of shifting and transition, and many are going through a detox. There has been a shift in the way we see God, there has been a shift in the way we understand church and there has been a shift in the way we position ourselves as believers as it pertains to the church. The Lord wants to first validate what you're feeling and second, He wants to reintroduce Himself to us. Jesus and the church has been presented to us in a very unhealthy way, illustrating that it is because of works why we are saved, justified, and loved by Christ. Today we shift that narrative and we begin a discussion of the "new normal" as it pertains to our relationship with Christ. Healed People, Heal People

On this week's Episode we continue the conversation with Dr. Joseph Smith and Ashley Keene. However, this time there is a spin on, as we transition to tools of transformation and healing. We encourage our listeners to use these tools of healing for themselves, and for others around them. Ashley provides us with tools of healing, Dr Smith speaks to how we can create spaces of healing for Black men, and I provide six soul care tips for the Black Believer. I think my favourite part of the conversation was the collective healing mantra, which states: I am healed, I belong here, I am loved, I am appreciated, I will maintain healthy resilience, and I am seen. It was such a beautiful moment of healing and restoration. So, do you have your notebook and pen? Are you positioned and ready for God to pour into you? Because I am excited about what is going to pour into you, it will be healing and transformative, and you will never be the same. The journey of healing continues!
