About Us

We’re Amanda & Ryan and we’re the hosts of The World Wanderers podcast. We’re a traveling couple originally from Alberta, Canada with a love of exploring the world, eating great food (mostly Mexican food, if we’re being honest), learning new languages, and meeting new people. The World Wanderers podcast is a travel diary of our adventures since we started traveling together in 2011. We take you with us as we travel through Europe, Southeast Asia, Australia & New Zealand as 22-year old budget backpackers looking for the best party hostel. We take you with us to South America where we go through some of our deepest personal transformations. We take you with us as we move to a small town in the Canadian Rocky Mountains and take a massive career pivot. We take you with us to the southern US where we lived for a year. We take you through Asia as we navigate the world of “digital nomad life”. We take you on all our adventures in Mexico, which is the country we both feel most at home in the world. And the adventures don’t stop there. With each new place we visit, food we try, and culture that we fall in love with (or maybe don’t fall in love with), we share that with you. The evolution of how we travel has changed dramatically since the beginning, but what hasn’t changed is our love for exploring the world. Join us every other Thursday for a brand new episode of The World Wanderers.

David Gold on Building a Business Abroad

When we decided to settle down in Panama we wanted to invest in improving our Spanish and find ways to meet new people, so we signed up for Spanish classes at the Casco Antiguo Spanish school. After class, we would often find ourselves having interesting chats with the school's founder David Gold. David has a ton of fascinating stories about life in Panama and travels in Latin America, so we knew we needed to have him on the podcast! In this episode, we are talking with David about what brought him to Panama, his experience learning Spanish and living in a remote part of Bolivia, and his experience as an entrepreneur in Panama. If you've ever thought about starting a business outside your country, you'll love this episode! Finally, our apologies for the buzzing sound that shows up periodically through this episode. There was an issue with one of our microphones when recording, but we think that content is worth it.

Living an Offbeat Life with Debbie Arcangeles

This week on the podcast we are chatting with Debbie Arcangeles. Debbie is a remote entrepreneur and the host of The Offbeat Life, a podcast where she interviews individuals who are location independent and digital nomads. As a teen, Debbie caught the travel bug and set out to build a career that allowed her to earn a living while exploring the globe. And she did just that, but after a couple of years working as a travel journalist, she realized that she was burnt out. So she returned home and started a more traditional career. Years later after finding success in early childhood education she once again came to the realization that something was missing. The stability and quality of life were great, but the freedom and creativity weren't there. So Debbie set out on a new path and found a way to bridge travel and location independence with a fulfilling and successful career.
