The Hotel Monte Vista

EThis holiday weekend we beat the heat and head up north to Flagstaff, AZ and the proudly haunted Hotel Monte Vista! This place has a flashy history it’s right to be proud of. Many a star have stayed here and many ghosts gave them a sleepless night or two as well. Here you’ll find a creepy rocking chair that doesn’t like to be moved, a bank robber in the bar still trying to finish his drink, and a phantom bellboy insisting on bringing you room service. Pro tip: if sourceless crying babies aren’t your thing - avoid the basement entirely. Grab that drink, saddle up to the bar, and listen to us tell you all about a lovely place here in AZ complete with terrible John Wayne impressions and a shock revelation of Archie’s side hustle that he’s bringing back from the early 90s. For extra credit please check out our buddy podcast, Reverie True Crime, anywhere you get your podcasts! Have a safe and happy 4th of July!!

The Cecil Hotel

EToday we take the class to a true gem in downtown Los Angeles. And by true gem, we mean a terrible, awful, no good, really BAD place called the Cecil Hotel. Here you may spot the Black Dahlia sipping on a drink at the bar, be hugged by an entity that will take it too far, and be oddly transported to another floor without the aid of stairs or an elevator. Not that those are any better, because they are haunted too. Grab your camera, visor, and running shoes - and you can toss out that map to the stars homes. We won't be going ANYWHERE fun today. And please check out our buddy podcast - Serial Spirits! Find them on all of your favorite podcast stations!

**Special bonus episode** Poveglia Island/Island Of the Dolls

EWe're releasing one of our mini episodes that our Patreons get! Come check out the party we've got in full swing over here, and sign up today! Mini episodes like this one are available to everyone at the $5 and up level! Patreon.com/HoaHPodcast Today's mini episode we go to the islands! Not the fun, tropical islands, but islands nonetheless. To make them feel more welcoming we bring our tropical drink - Gilligan's Island Punch with us. We talk far more about the Black Plague and the ashes of human remains than we'd like, we judge the obsession of a man who dedicated an entire island of creepy dolls to a drowned little girl he may or may not have found. And we get into the reasons why dolls creep people the fuck out. Grab your favorite drink and listen to 2 stories full of fascination and word butchery like only we can bring you!

The Exorcism of Anneliese Michel

EWe’re back and hitting the ground awkwardly stumbling with a truly wild episode on the heartbreaking exorcism case of Anneliese Michel. The case that inspired the movie “The Exorcism of Emily Rose”. We discuss the case in detail and try to add in some levity, because it’s just truly terrifying and sad. Please remember we are a comedy podcast and no true disrespect to religious beliefs is intended. Grab that whiskey, because wine just won’t cut it with this one! Please have a listen to our buddy podcast - That Would Go Good With Vodka! Find them on your favorite podcast station today! And remember please rate, review and subscribe to all of us!

The Harrisville Farmhouse

EToday we tell the class about the house that inspired the movie The Conjuring and the chaos the Perron family had to live through. A little boy ghost who doesn’t want you looking at him. A woman - whose signature scent is the stench of death - trying to steal your man. Our suggestion on how to cleanse a home. And Archie adopts the stage name, Agamemnon. Grab that box of wine and settle in for a booze crooze that even bested Ed & Lorraine Warren.

The Bird Cage Theater

EAs we always say here at HoaH, the 5th time or 6th time is the charm. This week we bring you The Bird Cage Theater in Tombstone, AZ! This location was to be our very first episode but our audio tech didn’t know...well, anything. Cigar smoke blown in your face when you’re alone, being shoved by nothing away from the poker tables, and boots and spurs making their way through the place despite not having a body in them... Come with us as we take you back to 1880s Arizona and the “wickedest, wildest nightspot between Basin Street and the Barbary Coast”! For extra credit, please check out our podcast pal, All The Things That Keep Us Up At Night on your favorite podcast station today!

Alcatraz

EThis week's episode is a heavy hitter, class. ALCATRAZ! And it has (almost) little to do with the fact we had our Cinco de Mayo pre-game while we recorded it. Archie comes at us with his most in depth history yet. Carrie tries to follow up that impressiveness with a red eyed "thing", a gangster that is far less intimidating when he plays his banjo, a phantom lighthouse, and every canary song, thump, bump, and screaming in between. Settle in for a ride that is so far off the rails it can only be brought to you by tequila.

The Driskill Hotel

E"Pee for Houston, pee for Austin, pee for the state my heart got lost in. Aaaand shake twice for Texas" - Sheldon Cooper. Archie wouldn't let Carrie sing that in this episode, so she's singing it here! Today we go to Austin, TX and the STUNNINGLY beautiful Driskill Hotel! Built in 1886, this historic hotel has seen it's share. Beyond that, it's had more nips, tucks, plumps, and renovations than a Kardashian. Here you will find phantom cigar smoke, a jilted bride to be who is down with identity theft, Annie Lennox, Concrete Blonde, and.....Lizzo?! As always, please consider the organization that supports us - Love Heals Rescue!
